Results of the International Beekeeping Photography Competition 2018

In this week the assessment panel (Brane Borštnik, Franc Šivic, Vlado Auguštin, Marko Borko, Alessandro Manzano (Italy)) has assessed the photos in five subject categories: 1. Honey Bee and the World of Plants; 2. The Life of Bees (biology); 3. Beekeeping Tasks and Honey Bee Products; 4. Traditional Bee House / Bee Yard; 5. World Bee Day (photos of different pollinators), according to the predefined criteria (1. Expressiveness, 2. Originality, 3. Technical design, 4. Aesthetics, 5. Bee race (Apis mellifera carnica). An additional criterion applies to the Traditional Bee House / Bee Yard subject category: 6. Orderly appearance of the bee house / beehives and the surroundings).
The panel has nominated three best pictures from each of the subject categories and amongst those chose three winning pictures for gold, silver, and bronze certificate. The award ceremony will be held at the ApiSlovenia 2018 Fair on Sunday, 18 March 2018, in Celje, Slovenia. After the ApiSlovenia 2018 Fair, the winners will be announced at the SBA website as well: www.czs.si.
Some statistics of the International Beekeeping Photography Competition. We have received 222 pictures from 42 participating authors that come from 12 different countries.
